Still Not Sure How to Defeat Harper?
I admit that I’ve been all over the map during this election. I have a preferred party that I’d like to support with my ‘X’, but I know that doing so will split the vote and push Stephen Harper right up through the middle, like Damien was born to a jackal on the 6th hour of the 6th day of the 6th month some long time ago …
Here’s how I’ll be able to sleep on October 19 and afterwards: I’ll vote for whichever candidate is most likely to defeat a Harper candidate.
There. Easy, right?
For all those others that still pretend it’s worth sticking to your guns, please stop and vote strategically as well. Make October 19 a resounding ‘Screw You’ to Stephen Harper and his moronic, racist, fascist goons.
Here are some resources that might help you with your decision:
- The Tyee, offering solid rationale for strategic voting (don’t listen to me … others are recommending it too!!)
- National Observer, again offering some rationale and additional resources
- 308: http://www.threehundredeight.com/p/canada.html?m=1
- Huffington Post: a great review of the most important ‘swing’ ridings across Canada.
- Leadnow: Leadnow is generating polls right up to election night, which will give you the latest on who’s pulling ahead in certain ridings. Vote for the one who’s got the most votes just to make sure it’s a complete bust for Harper.
- StrategicVoting.ca: the link provided points to ‘All Districts’, helping you confirm which party to vote for on October 19.
So, as the election draws near, expect me to re-post this post with some additional resources. So far, I’ve found Strategic Voting to be the best resource.
