Excited Delirium Book: Prelude
August 10, 2008
In most villages or towns, a shotgun blast would draw the attention of inhabitants for miles around, but not in Manhattan.
Most people in this city had grown numb to any new threats.
Besides, the blast had occurred more than a thousand feet up in the air, making the reverberation virtually inaudible to pedestrians on the street.
Within a few moments, the only sign that something awful had happened was the sharp chorus of twinkling that made it’s way to the ground. What used to be a window was now a thousand bits of glass crashing, like a cruel but brief rainstorm of pain.
That, and the body of a business man hurtling to the pavement to meet an horrific and frightening end.
