Canada Needs a Coalition
From the Canadian , Canada’s new socially progressive and cross-cultural national newspaper.
This raises another question: maybe Jack Layton should head the whole thing?
What a crock!
You may need to offer a little more detail. Do you mean the notion of Jack Layton heading a coalition? Who in the Liberals would appease a broad band of progressives? Or … are you scoffing at the notion of a coalition? I admit, it's a long-shot, but we've got to do something that will ensure that the voice of 70% of this country (about 80% when you actually look at the general population) gets heard?
I thought Canada had a little more sense than to turn our political government into something as bizzare as the US run their's. I was wrong! Apparently we have no sense at all. Coalition is the most ridiculous thing that could ever happen in Canada. When is Dion going to take the hint that Canada has rejected him. He should just give it up. Our country is in a bad enough economical state without the coalition group pulling off this action. It's time for Canada to stop acting like children and start running our country in an efficient manner that give us back some stability.
Hi Jean,
Nice to hear from you, but I'm disappointed to hear that you believe kingship or that the Harper regime is worth supporting (which is how I read your comment – tell me if I'm wrong).
This man seems happy with protecting his own job, but not protecting the jobs of Canadians.
This is a shameless dictatorship and democracy no longer exists in Canada. He makes no effort to work with the parties, but invites them to work with him. Who the hell does he think he is?
But let's get to your comment “Coalition is the most ridiculous thing that could ever happen in Canada”. WHY? A coalition represents the majority will of Canadians. I agree that Stephane Dion is not really the best option, but you are too focused on the leader and not on the actual doers behind the coalition.
And do it … tell us that the people of Quebec don't have right to sit at the table. Tell us how 'evil' they are. A constitutional crisis is brewing in Canada because of this nonsense and all you can worry about making sure you've got the right man in charge so you can have more money spent on defense or someone who will protect your guns.
Last question: why would you ever vote Conservative given what they've done to our country?
Oh yeah … when you talk about bringing action and stability to the government so that we can respond immediately to the current state of the economy, can you explain how putting everything on hold for nearly two months will help?
Honestly … a coalition is best suited to run this country. NOW. All the Harper regime will do is ruin it.
